Allergic diseases have high socioeconomic impact by impairing productivity and quality of life, and the impact may be greater in Asia-Pacific than in Europe due to the presence and predominance of perennial allergens.

At the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Summit 2017 held recently at  Hilton Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Associate Professor Marysia P Tiongco-Recto was invited by A. Menarini to deliver a lecture on the potential of modern second-generation antihistamines, particularly bilastine (Bilaxten®) in the management of AR.
