Parkinson’s disease therapy update
01 Sep 2017
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects motor function, primarily during middle to late life. The etiology is still not fully understood. It is thought to be multifactorial, involving genetic constitution and environmental triggers. The diagnosis of PD is clinical based and there is no definitive test available. The treatment goals in management of PD are to reduce the motor and non-motor symptoms and improve patients’ quality of life.
