Adjunct boceprevir treatment is  effective for patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV)-genotype-1 coinfection unresponsive to pegylated interferon/ribavarin (PEGIFN/RBV) therapy, as shown in a retrospective study. An overall sustained virological response rate of 89 percent was reached in the intention to treat analysis.
