Acute kidney injury is relatively common in patients with liver abscess

Acute kidney injury (AKI) may present in different infectious conditions. Liver abscess is relatively rare, but can lead to severe complications. Clinical and laboratory data of AKI in patients with liver abscess were analyzed in this review. This retrospective study included a total of 404 patients with liver abscess. It was evaluated through the results that AKI is relatively common in patients with liver abscess. It has therefore suggested physicians to attempt preventing, detecting, and managing AKI early in patients with liver abscess.
